I am blessed with three wonderful kids and a wonderful husband and have an amazing but demanding job. I often need to remind myself to count my blessings ! I have been living outside NZ for most of the last 12 years. I'm looking to rediscover my creative side, and generally to show more gratitude for the blessings in my life ! To appreciate everyday for what it is. I hope that this blog will help me to do this !

Another Friday
I still miss my weekends. Friday is just not the same when you don't have the two day weekend. One day a week " to rest" is just not enough. By the time to are being to wind down on saturday afternoon - time to start thinkng about getting things organised for another week. Next week should be nice , we have friends staying for a few days from Canada. On sunday another birthday arrives , 35 can't quite believe it. A few weeks back thought about organising a cocktail party ,even considered a 1920's/ art deco theme but as usual didn't go with it. Just didn't seem the same without my two favourite ladies there ! I used to love my birthday when I was a kid , but the last few days the day just passes without a lot of fuss. I think that I need to start a tradition of spoiling myself on my birthday , day off work , sleeping in till whenever , painting my toe nails , I don't know something. I will let you know what I decide. Chances are I will work and have cake with the kids in then afternoon.

Hmmm I understand and think it makes a stong case for coming back to NZ,
#1 A two day weekend
#2 A 20's cocktail party and you know art deco is my fav
#3 We could paint your toe nails!
Ok then just pretend we had a party, I look gorgeous in a long satin green backless fitted dress with long gloves, holding a ciggarette holder, Sprinkling of Diamonds everywhere, small hat, worn to the side with black net half veil, smokey eyes and ruby red lips. I of course will be drinking Brandy Alexanders all night and eating gorgeus nibbles we prepared, What would you and Jules wear?
Yep totally agree with Jodes.
I would be in a dazzling, full-length emerald green velvet dress, cross over bodice. Very beautiful, I had one once, worse it once, ruined it, once obviously!! Emerald drop earrings and necklace, and no shoes - well this is NZ after all.
I would probably end up getting legless with you both as 2 glasses of wine is my max these days let alone Brandy Alexanders!!
Hope you had a good day hon, and miss you both heaps!
Oops, just realise DG is in green, OK maybe on this occassion I could try a sapphire/midnight blue one - same style, and obviously rejig jewels to match!
